The Book of Wisdom
Chapter
3
¹ But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will ever touch them.
(The Book of Wisdom Chapter 3 verse 1)
Oh God my beloved Father, I would like to consider myself as being counted among those whom You consider as being righteous but my weaknesses are always reminding me that I am still weak and prone to sin and that to be counted among the righteous at this stage of my life may be rather hasty, for I am still works, in progress and You still have much to fix in me Amen. However, I still thank You for You still protect me from the forces of evil, even though I am not yet totally righteous Amen.
² In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died, and their departure was thought to be a disaster, ³ and their going from us to be their destruction; but they are at peace.
(The Book of Wisdom Chapter 3 verses 2 to 3)
Oh God for those who do not believe in You, death is destruction, however in truth death is a rebirth a new beginning and not an end Amen.
⁴ For though in the sight of others they were punished, their hope is full of immortality.
(The Book of Wisdom Chapter 3 verse 4)
Oh God my beloved Father, what the world considers as being a failure, You can turn it into a success, even the loss of a beloved one which is apparently a negative event can turn into a positive one especially when considering that after our journey on earth that person is now united forever with You, Amen.
⁵ Having been disciplined a little, they will receive great good, because God tested them and found them worthy of himself; ⁶ like gold in the furnace he tried them, and like a sacrificial burnt offering he accepted them. ⁷ In the time of their visitation they will shine forth, and will run like sparks through the stubble.
(The Book of Wisdom Chapter 3 verses 5 to 7)
Oh God this is the story of our lives and that of those to follow us in the future. During the time of our life You are still testing me, not because You hate me, and You have fun when You see me pass or fail the test but because You love me. After this time of probation, and formation I will be prepared to appaear in Your presence Amen. Thank You Jesus Amen and Love You Jesus Amen.
⁸ They will govern nations and rule over peoples, and the Lord will reign over them forever. ⁹ Those who trust in him will understand truth, and the faithful will abide with him in love, because grace and mercy are upon his holy ones, and he watches over his elect.
(The Book of Wisdom Chapter 3 verses 8 to 9)
Oh God my Father I pray for those who have been chosen by You to be in key positions and have been given the rule of governing or being in control of others. I pray that we all learn to place our trust in You and not on ourselves. I pray for Your protection, even though I am not one of Your holy ones, I know that You are watching over me Amen.
¹⁰ But the ungodly will be punished as their reasoning deserves, those who disregarded the righteous and rebelled against the Lord; ¹¹ for those who despise wisdom and instruction are miserable. Their hope is vain their labors are unprofitable, and their works are useless.
(The Book of Wisdom Chapter 3 verses 10 to 11)
Oh God it is very interesting that the ungodly will be punished according to their own reasoning and not according to Your reasoning. It is true that what we wish or plan to happen to others will in truth happen to us even throughout the course of this life on earth. Amen. I thank You oh God my Father for this relationship, for there was a time when I was up to my neck in ignorance and did not like Your ways Amen.
¹² Their wives are foolish, and their children evil; ¹³ their offspring are accursed. For blessed is the barren woman who is undefiled, who has not entered into a sinful union: she will have fruit when God examines souls.
(The Book of Wisdom Chapter 3 verses 12 to 13)
Oh God my beloved Father, blessed is the person who waits upon You to have children, than that lady who is living a sinful life and gives birth to children who will end up living the same negative life of the parents. I pray for my daughter that she grows up to be a different person than myself and even from her mother to whom she is greatly exposed and by whom she is greatly biased even against me. Amen.
¹⁴ Blessed also is the eunuch whose hands have done no lawless deed, and who has not devised wicked things against the Lord; for special favor will be shown him for his faithfulness, and a place of great delight in the temple of the Lord.

Blessed are people with mental and physical impairments, for in their apparent weaknesses they are pure and strong, for they have not wronged You by their thoughts or actions Amen.

Oh God my Father the reward of good labour is a generous wage packet which generates luxury and financial security, however this is not all that keeps us alive, not even wisdom in all its pomp and glory is enough to keep us going in our daily life. What is of primary value in my life oh God my Father is my experience and relationship that You have with me which satisfies the cravings of my soul which are never ending Amen.
¹⁶ But children of adulterers will not come to maturity, and the offspring of an unlawful union will perish. ¹⁷ Even if they live long they will be held of no account, and finally their old age will be without honour. ¹⁸ If they die young, they will have no hope and no consolation on the day of judgment. ¹⁹ For the end of an unrighteous generation is grievous.

Oh God my beloved Father, I would like to end this third Chapter of the Book of Wisdon with the following prayer.
Oh God my beloved Father, although we have become a disobedient nation please have mercy on us because not all have turned their backs on You. There are many of us who still love and follow in Your ways Amen.
